Meet The Grappler!

Co-founder at L3b, Mahmoud got his nickname for constantly playing with a multitude of ideas to maintain a third space open to surprises. Mahmoud is a consultant, trainer, educator, researcher, and speaker. He holds a Ph.D in Education and a Master’s in Science and Religion from the University of Oxford. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Lebanese American University. 

As a consultant, Mahmoud has supported the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) in developing the National Education 2030 Strategy for Lebanon. He has also worked with several local and international organizations in areas spanning strategic planning, capacity building and impact evaluation including World Learning, Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD), Higher Council for Childhood – Ministry of Social Affairs (HCC – MOSA), UNICEF, UNESCO, among others.

As a trainer and educator, Mahmoud has facilitated numerous workshops for education leaders, administrators, teachers, and social workers in public and private institutions as well as in collaboration with several governmental and nongovernmental organizations across Lebanon. He also teaches at the Departments of Humanities and Education at the Lebanese American University.

As a researcher, Mahmoud has participated in several international conferences on teacher education and professional learning and is a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Education Policy Development and Innovation (JEPDI). 

As a speaker, Mahmoud has presented at several local and international events including TEDxBeirut, TEDxEast (New York), among others.
